Matt’s unique background in regulatory law and complex litigation makes him a strategic resource to Marcus & Shapira’s clients.
Matt joined Marcus & Shapira in 2024. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Matt worked for several years as the Deputy Litigation Director for a consumer advocacy organization based in Washington, DC. There, Matt specialized in class-action, consumer protection and Administrative Procedure Act litigation. He also handled a wide array of regulatory and legislative matters, securing significant changes to consumer protection regulations and laws across several federal agencies and jurisdictions.
Prior to that, Matt clerked for the Honorable Frank Maas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and was the New York University School of Law Fellow at Human Rights Watch.
Matt obtained his finance degree from the University of Maryland and graduated Order of the Coif from New York University School of Law. Matt lives in Fox Chapel with his wife and their three kids.
